Gender inequalities persist despite the increased recognition of women’s rights. The improvement of the economic and social well-being of African women can have positive outcomes that may benefit society as a whole (UNDP, 2016).In sub-Saharan Africa, women constitute the majority of the agricultural labour force and the division of agricultural work varies considerably depending on gender.
