ATONU Stories of Change
The ATONU Project is implementing a package of nutrition-sensitive interventions (NSIs) to enhance nutrition outcomes in beneficiary households of the African Chicken Genetic Gains (ACGG) Project in Tanzania and Ethiopia.
The NSI package comprises the following components;
- Nutrition and hygiene social behaviour change communication (SBCC) to improve consumption of diverse foods, including chickens and eggs at household level.
- SBCC for influencing income expenditure from sale of chickens and eggs to purchase other nutritious foods to improve household diets;
- SBCC for women empowerment and gender equity in chicken value chains to improve women’s participation in joint household production and women’s time use.
- Household vegetable production to improve consumption of vegetables and dietary diversity.
After conducting interviews with some of the beneficiary households, “Stories of Change” were recorded for sharing testimonies of the impact of NSIs.
