The African Presidential Roundtable 2011
Port Louis, Mauritius
1 June 2011 - 2 June 2011

The FANRPAN CEO, Dr Lindiwe Majele Sibanda attends the African Presidential Roundtable 2011. Her experience in working in the African and global environments will add value to the deliberations at this event.

As Africa evolves exponentially, the need for energy becomes an increasing challenge. If left unresolved, it can hamper development.

This event is a multi-continental conversation involving former African heads of state, diplomats, industry leaders, international dignitaries, and students and faculties from the United States, Europe, and Africa. The theme for the African Presidential Roundtable 2011 is "21st Century Energy Agenda for Africa."

The Roundtable will focus on how governments, institutions, and individuals can aid in bringing Africa closer to achieving a resolution to this pressing dilemma.

This African Presidential Roundtable represents an opportunity to reach a significant number of key individuals and institutions that have the ability to directly impact the development of Africa. The African Presidential Roundtable has facilitated a better understanding by both Africans and Americans of their respective views regarding civic participation, leadership development, and policy formation relative to Africa. This effort has also led to more informed policies and has the potential to influence future practices by providing a sustainable and credible forum for former democratically elected African heads of state to convene around issues that affect U.S. - Africa relations.
