WARM Project Planning Meeting: Mozambique
26 July 2010 - 27 July 2010

The Mozambique WARM project team had its first planning meeting in Maputo, Mozambique from 26 -27 July 2010. The meeting was hosted by the Foundation for Community Development (FDC) the host organization for the project in Mozambique. All national implementing partners were present, Eduardo Mondlane University Faculty of Agronomy and Forestry Engineering (UEM/ FAEF) the institute leading the research component of the project was represented by Paiva Munguambe, Emilio Magai, Felicidade Massingue and Mario Chilundo. Eduardo Mondlane University's School of Communication and Arts (UEM//ECA), the institute leading the theatre component was represented by Rogério Manjate and Dadivo Jose Combane. Also present was Bruno Araujo from Eduardo Mondlane University representing the FANRPAN Mozambique Node. Dr Marta Cumbi, the FDC Director for Cooperation and Advocacy has been appointed as the coordinator of the project in Mozambique. She will be working closely with the research and theatre teams from Eduardo Mondlane.

Dr David Kamchacha, FANRPAN Director of Inputs and Output Markets presented an overview of FANRPAN; this was then followed by a presentation on the project concept document by WARM Project Coordinator, Ms Sithembile Ndema. In her presentation she highlighted and the different roles of the partners and the linkages in terms of activities were clarified. The Mozambique team developed a work plan for the Mozambique specific activities in relation to the contractual work plan and to the objectives of the project.
