FANRPAN called upon to empower African women scientists
2 July 2009

FANRPAN was recently called upon to contribute to the empowerment of African women scientists, especially in the field of publishing their research findings. Women scientists have been generating information from their research but only a limited amount reaches the intended audiences such as policy makers, civil society, governments, development partners, farmers, consumers and other scientists. FANRPAN CEO, Dr Lindiwe Majele Sibanda, and Programme Manager Ms Sithembile Ndema were recently in Livingstone Zambia where they delivered training on appropriate packaging of research findings into effective policy briefs that can appeal to a wider stakeholder base, especially policy makers.
