AFAAS extension week

FANRPAN participated in the 3rd AFAAS Africa-Wide Agricultural Extension Week (AEW) which was held back to back with the 51st Annual Conference of the South African Society for Agricultural Extension in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa from the 30th of October to 3rd of November 2017.
The AFAAS 3rd AEW conference was organized by the South African Society for Agricultural Extension (SASAE) together with Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) under the theme of “Scaling up Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA): integrating youth, women, and the digital revolution”. The theme was selected by the AFAAS Board and stakeholders in recognition of the negative impact of climate change on the right to and access of productive resources (finance, land, water and assets) by the most vulnerable populations, specifically the youth and women.
The purpose of the event was to establish and strengthen partnerships and improve knowledge and awareness of the importance of CSA in supporting the vulnerable rural farmers in demanding and for better access to and utilization of technologies, innovations, management practices created and shared among AEAS actors.
