Australia Awards ACIAR John Allwright Fellowship applications for 2017 intake

The Australian Government and ACIAR offer a number of training scholarships.

Applications for the ACIAR John Allwright Fellowship 2017 intake will open on Sunday 1 May 2016 at 09:00am Australia Eastern Standard Time and close on Sunday 31 July 2016 at midnight Australia Eastern Standard Time.
Applying online
Go to the Online Australia Scholarships Information System (OASIS) at http://oasis.dfat.gov.au. The first step is for the applicant to register in OASIS as this will enable them to logon, create and complete an application.

For instructions on how to register and create an application in OASIS please see the OASIS Applicant User guide at http://aciar.gov.au/content/australia-awards-john-allwright-eligibility-and-online-user-guide. The JAF Guidelines are also available at this address.
Please note that it is ACIAR's preference that applicants apply online.

A reminder that the primary aim of the fellowship scheme is to enhance research capacity in ACIAR's partner country institutions. Although applications are welcome from participants in both bilateral and multilateral projects, to be eligible, applicants must be working on an active ACIAR project in the partner country at the time of application.

Other training opportunities include:

  1. ACIAR also has the John Dillon Fellowship scheme which provides funding to develop agricultural leadership skills through exposure to Australian agriculture across a range of best-practice organisations involved in research, extension and/or policy making. The application deadline is 31st August 2016. Again the scheme is competitive and 8 to 10 awards are provided each year. For more information see:
  2. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade runs the Australia Awards Scholarship programme, and for Africa provides awards for Masters and short course applicants. This scheme is much larger than the ACIAR schemes. The application deadline for the Africa schemes is the 1st September 2016. Pages to check include:
