|Call for Position of Senior Education Fellow (SEF) for ANAFE

About the organization:
The African Network for Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Education (ANAFE) is a Pan African Tertiary Education Network of 137 member institutions (universities and colleges) in 35 African countries. The network consists of four regional chapters known as RAFTs (Regional Agricultural Fora for Training) - one each in Eastern and Central Africa (ECA), Southern Africa (SA), the Sahelian countries (Sahel), and the Africa Humid Tropics countries (AHT)). Activities in each RAFT are spearheaded through a Focal Institution. The ANAFE Secretariat is based in Nairobi, Kenya and supports the networking functions.
About the Call for SEF
In order to secure results from the Strengthening Africa's Strategic Agricultural Capacity for Impact on Development (SASACID), which is in its final year, ANAFE looks for a Senior Education fellow (SEF) to support the Secretariat for a period of six (6) months. A SEF is a University lecturer or a College Principal who is available to join and be based at the ANAFE Secretariat in Nairobi to support in the delivery of ANAFE projects and programmes. The SEF is thus expected to undertake the following duties;
- Advise and support the SASACID Pilot Institutions in getting results.
- Compile data from ANAFE work and develop in collaboration with ANAFE Secretariat and RAFTs at least 3 papers that should be at least submitted to peer reviewed journals
- Analyze priority areas from past ANAFE work and establish areas for resource mobilization
- Support ANAFE in developing competitive proposals in the identified priority areas
- Develop a mid-term and end of term progress reports and share in written and by way of seminars
PhD degree in agriculture, Forestry, environmental, Agribusiness or social/anthropological sciences, a minimum of five years experience in education/training and or research and a track record of publications in peer reviewed journals.
The candidate being seconded by the institution he/she is coming from would be a comparative advantage. He/she must have excellent capacity to consolidate information and write reports clearly and concisely.
Knowledge of English or French with a good understanding of the other language would be an added advantage.
