"We need to fall in love again with the Earth" Thict Nhat Hanh
We need some new ideas to break the political deadlock and ensure that everyone on Earth is onside for the biggest challenge our civilization has ever faced.
At COP 20 the voices of all the people need to be heard. We can all embrace the love of Nature and the need to save it. Could this positive energy stimulate our collective conscience about the World, the environment and the spirit of change that needs to be harnessed for Earth and humanity to reach a new era of peace and harmony?
Documentary film maker and ecologist, John D. Liu and film maker and environmental education expert, Tiahoga Ruge, will chair "Growing Collective Consciousness from the Voices for the Climate" at theCOP20 in Lima. This initiative supported by the Ministry of the Environment of Peru and many voluntary contributions is hosting a series of comprehensive videotaped conversations to unleash inspirational threads that can launch a new inclusive awareness.
The talks will evolve over the coming days on topics such as Spirituality, Peace, Agriculture, Work, Growth, Ecological Restoration, Citizen Participation, Climate Justice, Indigenous People, Economics and the Political Process.
There will be 16 hours of filmed discussions on the VIVERO public stage at the Voices for Climate arena coupled with many hours of filmed discussions off stage examining the many co mplex causes and effects of Climate Change. A documentary will be produced subsequently to capture the new spirit and message of the people for the climate and in preparation for the negotiations at the Cop21 of Paris.
This initiative is self-funded and dependent on the passion and willingness of many talented people to self-organize to capture the voices of the people. We are doing this because we know that it is the right and the responsibility of each individual to participate in mitigating and adapting to human induced climate change.
