The Food Agriculture Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) held its Annual Regional Stakeholders Dialogue in Maputo, Mozambique from Tuesday, 1 September to Friday, 4 September 2009.
The theme for this year's dialogue was "True Contribution of Agriculture to Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction in Southern African countries". The Policy Dialogue presented an excellent opportunity for the Southern African region to dialogue on researched case studies from different countries on the theme based on the various forward and backward linkages between agriculture and other sectors.
More than 200 delegates who included senior officials of national governments, representatives of regional economic organisations such as COMESA, NEPAD, donor organisations, network partners, FANRPAN Board members and country nodes representing farmers' organisations, agri-business, development partner agencies and parliamentarians participated in this meeting. |
