Background

Globalization, Growth and Poverty (GGP) is a new program initiative of IDRC, launched on April 1, 2006, aimed at enabling developing countries to design appropriate domestic policies and international integration strategies for promoting more inclusive and equitable growth.

The GGP program initiative will consolidate and build upon past IDRC investments in the fields of global economic relations and macroeconomic policy and poverty, as it follows-up on previous program initiatives in those fields.

GGP supports the generation of evidence-based knowledge and its use in democratic policy making, as well as the development of related capacities in developing countries. Its research agenda is organized around the three axes of drivers and patterns of inclusive growth, markets and other institutions, and social protection.

Please note that the deadline for the current call for research funding (up to C$20,000) is 30 November 2006.
