Highlights

This issue celebrates the Strategic Analysis Knowledge Support System for Southern Africa (SAKSS-SA) regional node meeting, the signing of the MOU with Crop-Life International, the submission of 2006 work-plans to USAID-RSCA, the submission of expressions of interest to Southern African Trust (SAT), meetings with Node Coordinators and the FANRPAN Board – as some of the key events in January.

The signing of an MOU with a private sector organization reflects FANRPAN’s continued thrust to create a multi-stakeholder platform for balanced engagement as a way of influencing policy. The submission of work-plans and expressions of interest is part of the on-going FANRPAN thrust to build the human and financial capacity of FANRPAN. The holding of the second Strategic Analysis Knowledge Support System for Southern Africa (SAKSS-SA) regional node meeting, especially in the presence of the new coordinator, was a strong indicator that Strategic Analysis Knowledge Support System for Southern Africa (SAKSS-SA) is back on track.

Dr Lindiwe Majele Sibanda, CEO, FANRPAN
