FANRPAN Stakeholders' Directory

This is the third issue of the FANRPAN annual Stakeholders' Directory series. We are most grateful to the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation of ACP-EU (CTA) who have continued to provide support for this very important publication.

The stakeholders' directory is an important tool facilitating networking both within the network membership and externally. Stakeholders are all those interested parties, groups, actors, claimants and institutions - both internal and external to the network - who either affect or are affected by FANRPAN's activities, outputs and policies.

A total of 186 entries are presented for year 2004. The increase in entries, is largely due to the overwhelming response to the call for updated records we sent out towards the end of year 2004. A big thank you to all who responded to our call. We hope all stakeholders will be more proactive in the coming year and inform us of the editorial errors, new entries and changes in status that we need to incorporate in the 2005 Directory.

We have improved on the format and tried to make the directory user friendly by arranging entries in alphabetical order and categorizing entries on a country and organization-type basis. We trust that you will find this format useful.

As we intensify our membership drive both at national and international levels, it is our hope that the 2005stakeholders' directory will have twice as many entries. This can only happen if you share this directory widely and introduce more stakeholders to the FANRPAN network.

Thank You.

Lindiwe Majele Sibanda
Chief Executive Officer.
